We define maintenance projects as repairs and patches, while we describe design and update projects as infrastructure design and/or updates. Unlike digital transformation work, both of these project types are focused on current systems. Our research shows that each of these three groups has different attitudes, behaviors, and needs when it comes to growing their SAP skills.
Maintenance Focus Avoids Emerging Tech
SAP customers focused on maintenance projects do not think emerging technologies will have an immediate impact on their business. Topics like artificial intelligence or blockchain likely will not resonate for individuals working in a maintenance-focused organization. Support for an on-premise data warehouse, however, could be more helpful.
